Additional information

This is the fifth paper in a series of six published pieces based upon original research conducted into English teachers’ understandings and operation of inclusive education. This work was formed from an earlier project which led to formulation of the Sage text Special Needs and Inclusion which to date has sold 4,196 copies. The originality and rigour of the work relates to the analysis of inclusion through lexical ontology and the manner in which this is employed as lens to deconstruct the New Labour policy of inclusive education.

The significance of the research lies in its adoption of a critical stance to the populous idea of inclusion and its promulgation within policy and practice settings.
