This 448-page book is the first detailed analysis of the early career of T.H. Parry-Williams. Its findings are based on extensive use of a large body of primary archival material from the university archives of Freiburg (Germany), the Sorbonne (Paris) and Bangor, the federal archives of Baden Württemberg, the Bodleian and Taylorian libraries, Oxford, the National Library of Wales, and the Gwynedd Archives at Bangor and Caernarfon. The research was commenced in 1998 and was largely completed by 2009. The analysis and presentation of the data took an additional four years.
