This paper and its companion provide solid evidence that the component approach to connection design can be successfully adapted for use at elevated temperatures. The research presented includes unique test data (freely available for download at http://www.fire-research.group.shef.ac.uk/downloads.html), numerical modeling and a novel component model for web cleat connections. This open data source approach is useful to other researchers for validation of analysis and design methodologies.
