A collaborative platform for integrating and optimising Computational Fluid Dynamics analysis requests
A technically advanced collaborative design platform is described, that is radically different from current thinking, providing a solution to the challenges of: tool interoperability; translation/transfer of product data, transaction management, and change notification. These challenges are known to cost industry “billions of dollars” (szykman@nist.gov). The platform was developed in direct response to industrial requirements through a develop/test/evolve iterative process. Industrial implementation has reported substantial benefits: significant (67%) reductions in workflow times; less reliance on experts; guaranteed data consistency; and elimination of human errors (gatchell@hsva.de; h.j.prins@marin.nl). The platform formed the foundation for the current €1.8M FP7 project EuroVIP (SCSO-GA-2011-266054).
