Additional information

This paper describes a novel technique for fast determination of concentration of chemicals in aqueous solutions, based on measuring electrical conductivity and acoustic velocity. It will enable the oil companies to determine the hydrate safety margin, hence minimising injection rates of costly and environmentally harmful chemicals. Commercialised by Hydrafact (HydraCHEK), it has been applied in fields around the world (DOI:10.2523/13765-MS), resulting in significant extra production/savings, e.g.Total increased the life of the NUGGETS field by 3 years, producing and extra 2.8M Barrel of Oil Equivalent gas (DOI:10.2118/166596-MS). It is an important part of two new Joint-Industry-Projects in ERPE and Hydrafact.
