E-Learning and the Digital Divide: Perpetuating Cultural and Socio-Economic Elitism in Higher Education
<33> This is part of a stream of research investigating e-learning in UK HE. Aspects have investigated e-learning strategy development, impacts on students and impacts on research processes. This work has been presented at a variety of conferences and in journal publications. This paper takes a contrary view to most 'hype'-based e-learning research of the time of publication, arguing that the reality of e-learning is not inclusion of non-traditional learners but potentially the opposite. Communications of the Association of Information Systems is an official AIS journal which is the major global IS community.
