Additional information

Martin had editorial responsibility for one-third of the volume. As well as contributing his own chapter (21) in the volume, Martin was solely responsible for editing the chapters of its UK-based contributors (Chapters 2, 7, 16, 19, 21 and 26). He co-wrote the Foreword and made a significant editorial contribution to High’s Introduction. Martin also had significant input into editorial decisions concerning the design of the volume and the running-order of its chapters. He shared responsibility with High and Oellers for standardising the English and German orthography throughout.
