Additional information

This paper, selected for a special issue, presents a novel modelling methodology developed for allowing the efficient simulation of fine features in GPR models. The application of this work (sponsored by Network Rail, Ref: 267791) to the modelling of GPR responses due to ring separation in masonry arch bridges led to two further papers (DoI:10.3997/1873-0604.2010065, DoI:10.1016/j.ndteint.2008.01.006). It also resulted in an invited talk (5th International Workshop on Advanced GPR, 2009, Granada, Spain) and an invitation to present to GPR researchers at the University of Vigo, Spain (Professor Henrique Lorenzo, hlorenzo@uvigo.es).
