Additional information

This work helped to influence the inclusion of CCS on gas plant in the UK Energy Bill 2010 after a government amendment during the committee stage, to which Gibbins also gave evidence on 5 January 2010. (http://www.publications.parliament.uk/pa/cm200910/cmpublic/energy/100105/pm/100105s01.html). Current UK policy now has CCS on natural gas plants as a major feature for decarbonising electricity and it was the subject of a recent EPSRC focused call, with the analysis in this paper contributing to a major research project (Gas-FACTS, EP/J020788/1). To give this and other gas CCS work greater impact Gibbins (through UKCCSRC) has started an international gas CCS network (http://www.ukccsrc.ac.uk/30-31-may-natural-gas-ccs-networking-meeting-london).
