Additional information

This paper proposed a joint transceiver cognitive beamformer design to facilitate the concurrent transmission of primary and secondary users. Spectrum re-use benefits licensing and efficiency in personal wireless and other communication systems which has significant impact on society. The work stemmed from an international collaboration with TU-Darmstadt and AIT-Athens and was funded by FP-7 project CROWN-233843 (€2.3M) with QinetiQ and Infineon (http://www.fp7-crown.eu/. This work led to the follow-on FP-7 project HIATUS- 265578 (€2.7M) with Ericsson Research (http://www.fp7-hiatus.eu/) and has been highlighted in the review article (DoI:10.1109/JPROC.2012.2208211).
