Additional information

This work has been followed up for low-cost erosion protection in Bangladesh, with tenders currently being out for placement work: www.eprocure.gov.bd, e.g. tenders 4T-1/564 and T-7/448. The positive environmental impact of the method has been demonstrated by the Center for Environmental and Geographic Information System, Bangladesh (Shibly Sadik, email available). The work is being followed up at TU Braunschweig by Hocine Oumeraci (h.oumeraci@tu-braunschweig.de) for implementation in Sri Lanka (d.dassanayake@tu-braunschweig.de). The work is also in use by UK software house DEM-Solutions as part of their “social responsibility” portfolio (Senthil Arumugam, email available).
