This is a companion paper to Output 1, and developed numerical procedures based on methods for analyzing non-linear post-buckling behavior, which were then applied to piled foundations in seismically-liquefying soil. The work in the paper was included in a submission which won the Turner Prize for Centrifuge Modelling of the University of Cambridge. The work was utilised subsequently in Chapter 3 of the book ‘Design of Pile Foundations in Liquefiable Soils’ (http://www.worldscientific.com/worldscibooks/10.1142/p628) published by Imperial College Press, a second edition of which has recently been commissioned.
