Additional information

The method described in this paper has been used by Fiberline (a Danish company manufacturing pultruded glass and carbon fibre reinforced plastic sections) to help them quantify fibre misalignment in their products. This waviness has a significant bearing on the mechanical performance of their products, so that the waviness data provided by this tool can help Fiberline improve their manufacturing techniques, help quality control and provide input for strength models (ref. Dr Kratmann of Fiberline, see a direct quote from the paper co-authored by Dr Kratmann as per the supporting documentation).
