Two patent applications have been filed as a result of this work: ‘Air braking system’, British Patent Application No 0615837.2, 9 August 2006 PCT/GB2007/003034; and ‘Electromagnetic flexure’, British Patent Application No 1115726.0, 12 September 2011. PCT/GB2012/052241, 12 Sept 2012. An exploitation agreement has been signed by the University with Haldex Brake Products, to license the technology developed in this research for application to heavy goods vehicles. A full-scale prototype vehicle system is currently being developed and tested in a project with Haldex Brake Products (Bob Prescott, Chief Engineer, ID_in_audit_file@Haldex.com).
