Crowther's primary responsibility in the publication was for the final form of the Greek text, which is based on a joint examination of the stone that he undertook with Michel Cottier in 2000. His detailed research on the Greek text in turn made possible the research of the contributors in the volume. In addition he shared editorial duties with Barbara Levick for the whole volume, contributed to the Preface, Introduction, wrote the Physical Description of the Stone, compiled the Greek index and the epigraphical and papyrological index, and provided the illustrations.
