<27>The paper reports on work produced in collaboration with Telecom Italia research centre and Swinburne University (Australia). The novelty of the work lies in the development of an architecture with a generic context broker and pluggable context providers, interfacing with different open middleware standards (XMPP, REST); the definition of a ContextML language for context data representation, and a Context Query Language (CQL) to access context information based on high-level data filtering. The context-aware architectural framework is currently used by the new Telecom Italia's mobile services.
