Additional information

<06>Mobile ad hoc wireless networks are of increasing importance in a number of areas, particularly in recent years in vehicular environments. One of the key problems is contention for available bandwidth and this is particularly aggravated by broadcasting, which, unfortunately, is of primary importance in many scenarios. We have done much work on reducing the contention storm effect by using locality-sensitive probabilistic forwarding and in this paper we apply this to the problem of on-demand route discovery, demonstrating that the overhead involved in this process can be greatly reduced.
