Additional information

<28>Innovation: The first paper to define formally and integrate multiple scale models (including different spatial scales and different levels of detail) for biological systems in one unified, stochastic process algebraic framework. Rigour: All theory is rigorously verified by formal proof. Impact: The new theory enables a more rigorous development of systems biology, and it is the first theory that supports the recently proposed "middle-out" style of modelling. The paper was only recently published in the top theoretical computer science journal.
