Additional information

The authors have been responsible for work which quantifies the degree of composite action that can be achieved between light steel structural elements and sheet materials such as plywoods and the cementitious boards typically used in conjunction with light steel frames. The paper details aspects of this work such that effective use may be made of composite interactions to develop lighter, more robust, construction systems. Findings are widely used by commercial providers of systems such as Ayrshire, BW Industries, Fusion, Kingspan, Knauf, Lafarge, British Gypsum and Metsec.
