The synthesis method for growing nanocrystals directly in a conducting polymer was developed originally by Watt in 2004, and this later paper gives mechanistic understanding of the reaction dynamics. The method has since been used for the production of improved nanocrystal solar cells by a number of groups worldwide, including field leaders at NREL and Imperial College.
