This article explores the socio-legal phenomenon of barebacking, but unlike work before or since, it does so from a legal perspective which also understands the socio-legal context beyond the narrow issue of HIV transmission. Moreover, the work deploys queer theory as the prism of analysis providing a fresh perspective on an issue which has otherwise been analysed through a moral prism.
