Additional information

This paper demonstrates the high potential of the novel positively charged nanofiltration membrane previously reported. The removal and recovery of Methylene Blue from a synthetic dye house wastewater is investigated and the new membrane is shown to demonstrate both high flux and rejection properties, a rare combination. This work is an example of the recovery of a valuable cationic macromolecule and illustrates the potential for this membrane in the bioprocess and pharmaceutical industries or for the removal of multi-valent cations such as dyes and heavy metals in the paper and pulp, textiles, nuclear, and automotive industries.
