Additional information

This paper explores the use of multi-foil insulation materials in buildings, which are typically installed as roof structure insulations, although an agreed thermal performance rating for these materials has not yet been reached between manufacturers and researchers. Thermal performance of multi-foil insulation is reviewed and compared with results from experimental testing reported in the literature. It examines different factors affecting thermal performance, and puts forward a recommendation for more accurate investigation of multi-foil thermal performance. The results presented are of significant value to product assessors who set down the specifications of multi-foil products.
