Additional information

This paper summarises the results of tests on tube-and-fitting scaffold connectors giving the first results available for putlog connectors. Criticisms of ambiguities in the test procedures defined in the Eurocode BS EN 12811-3 ‘Temporary works equipment, Part 3: Load Testing’ were made with recommendations for changes to the code. The test results were used in the validating the calculations underlying the UK National Access Scaffolding Confederation (NASC) technical guidance note for tube and fitting scaffolds NASC TG20.08. NASC20.08 is used by most of the UK scaffold design companies.
