Van Wyhe was invited by the Centro de Estudios Europa Hispánica (CEEH), Madrid, to edit this volume for their series Los Austrios. Van Wyhe was the academic director of this project with responsibility for the overall concept of the book, the selection of the contributors and the topics of their essays. Van Wyhe single-authored a chapter (pp. 88-130) and the introduction (pp. 8-20). The volume was simultaneously published in Spanish as 'Isabel Clara Eugenia: Soberanía Femenina en las Cortes de Madrid y Bruselas' (Centro de Estudios Europa Hispánica, ISBN 978-84-936776-4-0).
