Additional information

<15> This paper describes how sensor data originally collected for one

purpose (predicting bus arrival times) can be reinterpreted for another

use. There is now increasing evidence across the transport sector that

everyone would benefit from shared access to common data sources. The

work described in this paper led to a successful Technology Strategy

Board proposal (Stride, Smart Transport IoT Data Ecosystem) with BT

(contact available on request) to overcome the technical and commercial

challenges of sharing transport data, including bus arrival information,

for the benefit of all parties.
