Additional information

This book is the result of a four-year long practice-led research project in the field of digital performance. In a series of essays assembled under the heading ‘Directing Cyber Theatre’, I am offering my understanding of several technical and aesthetic aspects of this vast, versatile, and ever expanding artistic discipline. The book is published in two different formats as an augmented book – a monograph with an element of augmented reality in partnership with Aurasma (Augmented Reality Platform), and an iBook (electronic book).

Double-weighted statement

The book is published in two different formats: an augmented book – a monograph with an element of augmented reality in partnership with Aurasma (Augmented Reality Platform), and an iBook.

The augmented book extends the experience of the traditional book by adding a digital element to it. One is able to watch video clips by pointing a smartphone at the dedicated images in the book so that the still images ‘come alive’. This new technology very much corresponds to the subject matter of the book. This combination of traditional research and creative practice makes the output worthy of double weighting.
