Double-weighted statement

This monograph is a product of more than six years of intensive research, working towards a commentary on Ecclesiastes. It presents what is a new interpretation of the book and involves discussion of its most complex themes and ideas,, most of which have generated a considerable literature in their own right. The bibliography of secondary works cited contains some 275 items, but closer to a thousand were collected and consulted in the course of the underlying research. The textual work depends also on extensive readings and evaluations of all the ancient witnesses.
