Additional information

The research (funded by SWDRA) evaluates the impact of climate change on wave conditions, and associated wave power generation, for the Southwest coast of the UK, using the IPCC greenhouse gas emission scenarios (B1 -low, A1B- intermediate emission levels). The research uses the Pelamis wave energy device as an example, and considers the change of wave characteristics over a projected 40 year period (2060-2100). The work provides key parameters for marine renewable energy developers. This research also led to further collaboration with Hohai University in China and Swansea University.
