A Committee Machine Gas Identification System Based on Dynamically Reconfigurable FPGA
<01> Paper reports the first FPGA implementation of an electronic nose using dynamic partial reconfiguration. The work is the result of an international collaboration with HKUST- Hong Kong which was supported by an EPSRC grant led by Prof. Amira. The contribution is significant and was the basis of subsequent invited paper in the IEEE CAS newsletter in the area of reconfigurable computing for signal processing. It has also led to secure a one million USD grant from Qatar Foundation to develop a self-calibrated reconfigurable platform for gas applications. The work has proven industrial relevance, securing funding from Xilinx and Mentor Graphics.
