Additional information

Increasing energy demand in China has led to a rapid expansion in the number of coal fired power generation stations with associated ash handling facilities. This paper written in collaboration with colleagues from, the Institute of Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing and the China Electric Power Research Institute, Beijing presents a new methodology to predict the behaviour of energy efficient pneumatic conveying ash handling systems. Ash from power generation amounts to many 100M tonnes per year so even small process improvements can have significant benefit in energy saving and reduced carbon footprint.
