Additional information

This paper addressed the limitations of the analytical model by Bouazza et al. (2008) (my previous output) in predicting gas leakage rate through a defected composite liner where GCLs holds low moisture content. Furthermore, as the analytical solutions are not preferred by practitioners since it usually produces complex equations, simple empirical equations were proposed in this study. In the low moisture content zone, the new proposed equations in this study were able to predict accurately the laboratory measured range of gas leakage rates whereas the analytical equation by Bouazza et al. (2008) show errors up to 50%.
