Additional information
<07>This paper builds on and extends results published at FASE'11 (nominated for the EASST award) and FASE'12, which were the first to formalise services as an interface mechanism that can be superposed over a component infrastructure, rather than as components themselves. The importance of these results lies in the fact that they address problems of run-time modularity and compositionality with which traditional design-time techniques cannot cope. Such problems arise commonly in the dynamic networks of systems that are now operating in cyberspace. Invited talks were also given at WWV'12 and FIT'12.
