Additional information

Despite the journal title, this is not a review paper. The work involved the semi-quantitative analysis of data within previously published papers, in conjunction with original data from fieldwork in multiple localities, to identify previously un-noticed trends in the Palaezoic rock record. It provides a number of original observations pertaining to the correlation of plant evolutionary adaptation and fluvial style through the Lower Palaeozoic, and where it has been cited it is usually done so as the primary original data source for the identification of these trends.
