Additional information

<12>The conventional adaptive line enhancer often used to separate and denoise signals needs an accurate period to be available or else cannot work. The novelty of this paper is its adaptation of an approach developed within the maths/finance community for forecasting, change detection and anomaly detection, to apply for the first time within signal processing. The improvements over the conventional approach are automatic separation and extraction of period data, and applicability to wide band data. This is significant for separation of biomedical, physical, and physiological data which often have periodic or quasi-periodic components, such as EMG affected by ECG artefacts.
