Anisotropic Impedance Surfaces for Linear to Circular Polarization Conversion
The proposed polarizer has redefined state of the art by significantly outperforming previous designs in all key performance characteristics simultaneously, while maintaining simple low-profile and manufacturing simplicity. This contribution is particularly significant as polarising surfaces become increasingly critical components of modern satellite communication systems. The work was recognized by best paper award in the 2011 version of the largest and most significant European event on Antennas and Propagation (EuCAP 2011), as well as by the European Space Agency Young Engineer of 2011 award. In 2013 ESA awarded €350K in collaboration with Thales France to further pursue this activity.
