Additional information

The research published in this article was presented at the conference 'New British Sculpture' at the Henry Moore Institute Leeds (February 2011). It draws on research conducted in the Archives of Art and Design (V&A) during my AHRC-funded research leave in 2008. The conference provided an opportunity to take this initial enquiry in a new direction. Research undertaken in London was augmented with additional research in the archives of the Getty Research Institute during research visits in 2010 and 2012, and the final article brings together aspects of my research into British and landscape-related sculpture of the period.
