<09> The paper benefited the software reuse research community and industry with a novel generative aspect-oriented approach and its related apparatus for component adaptation, which significantly improves the reusability of components. It contributed to the development of a patent (PCT/USA/GB/China,GB2446607(A) , US2008229278(A1) , WO2008099215(A1), CN101617294A), and its related software tool (FlexiCAGE, www.flexicage.com). Two key advances were appraised - high level of automation and reusability of evolution knowledge, and much interest shown from companies in its commercial application (e.g., HUAWEI, Xansa).
