* The first paper ever to provide a general analytical solution to the problem of dc bus voltage utilisation in multiphase drives supplied from PWM inverters with multi-frequency output voltage generation.

* Significant since it gives analytical results for all prime phase numbers and it shows that, under the condition of the multi-frequency output, dc bus utilisation can be significantly better than in the case of the pure sinusoidal output.

* Of importance to both industry and academia, since it provides an easy path for ensuring full dc-bus voltage utilisation in any inverter supplied multiphase drive system.
