Additional information

<23> A 3D reconstruction method was proposed for applications related to security and face recognition. This technique is a generalisation of 4-light photometric stereo for an arbitrary number of lights. The proposed approach is operating in real-time and it can be applied in airports and stadiums. This work was part of an EPSRC project for 3D face recognition and the proposed algorithm was also implemented on hardware using NI technologies. The prototype that was developed is at Bristol airport for further validation. Also, this work could be utilised not only to improve 3D-face recognition but for graphical representations and entertainment.
