<08>The first paper on the literature that proposed a new service description language (StarSDL), and a related service creation environment (StarSCE), for the emerging JAIN-SLEE (JAIN Service Logic Execution Environment) standard platform for integration of telecommunication service and web services. A previous version of this work was published at the IEEE International Conference of Web Services and it was used for the EU project SPICE to develop a Service Creation Environment (included in the new OMG's TelcoML standard). StarSCE has been extended to asynchronous web services to enable the visual composition and development of integrated services in the Italian ADSL network.
