<04> This paper introduces an innovative and patented (Patent publication number GB2465017) networking addressing scheme for IPv6 multicast communication that combines both routing and security processes. A new IPv6 multicast address format is proposed where a plurality of hierarchical scopes and their associated access control are coded and embedded into the IPv6 address for the first time. The proposed solution extends and improves a set of IPv6 Internet standards such as RFC 4291, RFC 3306, RFC 4489 and RFC 6550 and it supports the work of the Internet Engineering Task Force to promote the deployment of next generation networks.
