Presented a distributed implementation for collaborative use of relays for beamforming. Gave rise to the new field of collaborative-relay beamforming. Won a Best Paper Award at the International Conference on Wireless Communications and Signal processing 2009. Led to the extension to the imperfect channel case that was published in IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing in 2009 and was nominated for the Young Author Best Paper Award for the journal. Led to collaboration with Shandong University (J Liu), Southeast University (Y Huang), KTH Sweden (M Bengtsson).
