Double-weighted statement

Jones’s monograph sustains a complex argument about the operation (and dysfunction) of gendered concepts, primarily masculinity, within the political and literary spheres of late Georgian England at a time of national crisis. With an attention more wide-ranging than had hitherto been attempted in this area, the project required research of multiple interdisciplinary texts spanning political and military history as well as literature and art.
