This portfolio is made up of a) a playtext; b) accompanying essay; and c) images from a production commissioned by Stephen
Greenblatt and staged by Taylor as part of the Out the Box Theatre Festival in Cape Town in 2011. ‘After Cardenio’ entailed
detailed historical and textual research. In turn the play performs an exploration into Taylor’s research interests of staging and
sincerity, puppetry and the thresholds of the human, and anatomy and consciousness.
