Additional information

<32> This paper takes a dual approach. Firstly, it provides an overview and critique of previous work on Threshold Concepts within the CS curriculum, taking the position that results from earlier studies have been compromised by their choice of methodology. Secondly, it suggests that by making an ontological shift away from student experience to the context of teacher expertise, Threshold Concepts may be more reliably located, documented and shared. The identification of Threshold Concepts with Pedagogic Content Knowledge is a unique step that promises rich avenues for further work.
