Significance of output:

<20>This work introduces a novel approach to the display of energy consumption information, combining different areas of HCI.

Our novel design is focussed on interaction relating historical consumption data to real-life activities, while existing solutions were limited to passive displays of instantaneous or coarsely aggregated data. The low-cost high-fidelity prototyping approach we adopted makes a methodological contribution. This work led to a ~£0.3M EPSRC funded project (EP/K002589/1) in collaboration with the Nottingham University.

The work was validated through a field trial, where the FigureEnergy system was installed in 12 houses and used over 4 weeks.
