<20> Winner of Best Paper Award (given to top 1% of submissions) at CHI, the leading international venue for HCI research, which implements a double-blind review process with a rebuttal stage. The acceptance rate for CHI 2013 was 23%. The work proposes a new method for understand energy systems and is the first work to explore HCI issues associated with the end-to-end nature of smart energy grids. This work moved the community beyond a focus on in home displays to consider the broader issues of embedding autonomous agents within the energy system.
