Double-weighted statement

This single-authored monograph is the first full-length study of the seventeenth-century English republican Henry Neville (c 110,000 words). It brings together a broad range of materials, including archival records gathered in England and Italy (some of which have never been used/ published before), printed primary sources in English, French, Italian and German, and secondary works in a variety of European languages. The research for this book required extensive travel as well as foreign language acquisition on the part of the author. The methodology and ideas conveyed are also complex combining academic history with literary scholarship and political science.
