Additional information

The strategic imperative to maintain business alignment is a key driver of supply chain adaptation. Significant changes in business strategy dictate substantial changes in SC strategy. This paper addresses a blind spot in the SC literature by studying the SC reconfiguration of three multi-national organisations using a framework for strategic change (a_birtwistle@bat.com, Nuon vanhoekr@hotmail.com, Smiths Aerospace). Its contribution to practice is a practical framework to manage SC change; to methodology a case-based approach that captures a dynamic process in which human interaction and interfaces are critical. To theory an insight on the non-linearity of adaption processes in a SC context.
